Today we’re going to monitor your Social Media Exposure as a person and a professional.
Each presence online offers you choices about privacy. You may have a personal Facebook page where you share your trip to the beach and your children. You may have a professional page that you can set to monitor all comments before approving them.
Are you aware of what settings you have set on:
Facebook personal account
Facebook LIKE page or Group
Instagram Business Account
It’s a good idea to be aware of what you are allowing to be seen by others online.
Experts in security encourage you to be aware of the terms of service for each social media presence. An example would be to be aware that offers, ads, and business is against terms of service from a personal facebook page, however, it is absolutely compliant on your LIKE page or within your GROUP.
Have you signed out of Facebook lately to see what you see when you search for your name on Facebook. If you are not signed in, a friend, or a friend of a friend who is signed on, what is a complete stranger able to find out about you?
Today’s assignment is to be a private eye tracking yourself on:
Instagram
Facebook
and
LinkedIn
Knowing how you’re seen when you’re NOT friends is important if you want to be found for professional roles.
I’ll be looking for you too!
